When she had left the table turned to . “Either snap out of it or do something about it. Ask her out!” shook his head. “She’ll probably say no.” “Or she’ll say yes.” interjected. approached with the food and placed their orders in front of each guy. “Enjoy your meal!” She said with a smile and a wink in ’s direction before she walked away again.

As they waited for their bill to arrive, excused himself and went to the bathroom. “, where are we going?” smiled to himself. His girlfriend sat in the passenger seat of his car with her arms crossed and a blindfold covering her eyes. It was their second anniversary and was nervous. More nervous than he’d ever been. Tonight he was going to ask to marry him. He knew that she loved him, and God knows he loved her. He lead her up the stairs and into the darkened restaurant. “I’m going to remove the blindfold now.” He carefully pulled it off and came to stand in front of her. “Hi” He smiled at her. She smiled back and looked around. “Where are we?” ignored the question and leaned forward, capturing her mouth in a kiss. “Happy anniversary. I love you so much!” put her arms around his neck and leaned into the kiss. “I love you, too.” He freed himself, took a deep breath and pulled out the small box he had in his pocket before sinking down to the floor. looked confused. “, what is going on?” “, I love you so much. Would you do me the honor of spending the rest of your life with me and become my wife?” ’s hands flew to her mouth in surprise and her eyes filled up with tears. “Y..yes.” The answer was barely more than a whisper. “Yes, yes, yes!” The following answer was stronger and got back to his feet and kissed his fiancée just as the lights went on and all their friends and family started to cheer. He pulled out the ring from its box and placed it on ’s finger. “You and me, forever!” They kissed.

“Fuck” heard the soft curse coming from the bedroom, as he stood by the sink shaving. “What is it honey?” He called out to his wife. He smiled. His wife. Even after a year of marriage the thought that the wonderful person standing in his bedroom had agreed to share her life with him still amazed him.
The love of his life appeared in the doorway clad only in a bra and panties. “, my clothes don’t fit anymore, I have nothing to wear.” had to smile at the exasperated look she had on her face. They were four month pregnant with their first child, and while might not look too happy at the moment, he knew how happy she was. And he knew how thrilled he was. Maybe in bed…” returned the kiss quickly and took a small step back. “It’s ’s engagement-party. We can’t miss that!” “But I have nothing to wear!” freed himself completely from her and walked over to his closet, opened it and took out a bag. “You were supposed to get this on Friday for our anniversary, but I guess you can have it now.” He said and handed her the bag. took it and opened it. Looking down she saw something lilac. She reached into the bag and pulled out a beautiful dress. “Try it on.” encouraged. put it on and it fit her perfectly. He had chosen a lilac dress with an empire-waist so her tummy was somewhat concealed. She looked stunning in it. admired herself in the mirror before turning and giving him a kiss. “Thank you so much. I love you so much!” hugged her to him, smiled and returned the sentiment. “I love you too!”

Her hair had a few gray streaks in them, she now wore glasses and while fine lines now marred her face she looked every bit like the girl he fell in love with 30 years ago. looked up from the crossword she was working on. “What’s on your mind, honey?
